Miti is a delicious ijaw food. Miti is an ijaw food that is popularly called as maggot. The ijaw food ( Miti ) is gotten from the raffia palm tree. The insert ( weevil ) lay his eggs on the palm tree. The eggs hatches to form larvae which letter developed to maggot which is the miti.
The maggot weevil farmers breaks the palm tree to get them out from the tree.
How To Prepare Miti ( Ijaw Food )
1. Wash the miti
2. Put them in a put , the raw life miti
3. Add little water or a glass / cup of water.
4. Also add pepper and little Salt
5. Put it on a fire and cover it because of the blasting slaping Choking flame smell which can make you cough.
6. Once it starts boiling and you discover that the water is getting dry shake the pot.
7. Do not open it , just kept on shaking the pot left and right, up and down with your hand pressing the top pot cover.
8. Once in a while open the pot to check whether the miti is done and ready.
9. If the colour is fully yellow and oilily you can remove it from the fire.
