Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers that affects men. Among the risk factors of prostate cancer, age is one of the major risk factors. This means that as you grow older your chances of getting it increases.

Incase you dont know, prostate gland simply means cancer that affects your prostate gland which is responsible for producing seminal fluids and other important substances that helps to nourish and grow your sperm cells.

Usually, according to scientific data, men who are in their 50s and above are more likely come down with prostate cancer than men who are younger. Since foods is a major contributor to the onset of prostate cancer, as a man (young or old) you must be more careful about the things you eat or consume especially when you clock 50 and above to prevent prostate cancer.

1. The first on the list is Red meat and/or processed meat. When cooked under high temperature (such as when grilling, baking, frying etcetera) these foods are believed to produce a substance called Heterocyclic amines which are carcinogenic (that is, has the ability to cause cancer) to your prostate gland.

My advice is, avoid red meats and processed meat once you hit that age range (50 and above). Instead consume more white meat and fresh fish which have a better effect on your health.

2. Alcohol. This is one Substance most men consume as a means of enjoyment and whenever they go out with friends. Some persons even have personal bars in their houses. The truth is, excess consumption of alcohol especially as you grow older puts you at risk of developing prostrate cancer especially if youre already genetically predisposed to coming down with cancer.

My advice is, if you are the type that loves drinking alcohol then you should consider cutting it down especially when youre above 50 years of age when your chances of coming down with prostate cancer increases. You can consume at most two bottle a week to prevent or avoid putting your prostate gland at risk of cancer.
