Until recently, in Nigeria, the complaint about the dominance of one religious sect over the other hasnt been an issue. The choice of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressive Peoples party to pick Muslim counterparts as his running mate and director general of his campaign team has raised concerns in the country over the possibility of the helm of Nigeria political leadership being dominated by Muslims. In response to this, a former PDP chieftain but now APC chieftain has argued that the political leadership in the country is not dominated by Muslims, rather there is a balance of both religious sect and according to him there is no reason why anyone should be scared of the country being taken over by one religious sect. Today all six are Christians (with Oyetola out) and every Governor in the South is Christian. Again till recently the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal & Federal High Court were headed by Muslims.
